I usually go with an Irish theme for my March reading, but this year I thought it was a good time to add some Iranian and Middle Eastern voices to my reading list. Two of these have been sitting on my shelf for years. If you have any additional recs feel free to share! 💙📚

Miracle and other Christmas Stories

My Christmas 2025 Reads. So glad I discovered Connie Willis’ short story collection this year; I think it’ll become a holiday favorite. Good Spirits was also a very cute, fun read. How My Neighbor… was definitely my least favorite of the stack. 💙📚🪐
I had gone into the local bookshop several weeks ago to buy the paperbacks, but the owner talked me into waiting for these. I’m so glad she did.
I stopped into my favorite local bookstore yesterday to add some books to my fall TBR! Aren’t these Rachel Gillig special editions gorgeous?!? 💙📚🪐
Sorry! I’ve been off here for a while. No, the cat does not die. There’s some danger, but he’s just fine! (I wouldn’t love it so much if anything had happened to the cat 🐱)
This book is beautiful. I don’t know how else to describe it. I was sobbing with heartbreak and joy by the end. It’s just so good. #taylorjenkinsreid #atmospherealovestory 💙📚
For my booklover friends - these books are incredible. Quick reads and almost fable-like, they’re all about the importance of books and reading. They are wonderful, and I loved them so much. I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone who loves books (and cats) as much as I do!

Cory Booker is doing something incredible on the Senate floor. If you're not watching, you need to watch: www.youtube.com/live/Ej6locU...
I've been cutting back on social media for my own mental health.
But Senator Cory Booker is giving me so much hope right now. 💙
A girl has no king.
Book 14 of 2025: THE FIFTH SEASON by N. K. Jemisin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I decided Black History month would be a good time to finally finish The Broken Earth trilogy, but first I needed a refresher. I’d forgotten how excellent Jemisin’s writing is. I can’t wait to move on to the rest of the books. 💙📚🪐
Book 13 of 2025: THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS by C. S. Lewis ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Honestly, not my favorite of Lewis’s works but entertaining and worth the read nonetheless.
💙📚
Book 12 of 2025: THE SUMMER TREE by Guy Gabriel Kay⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This one has gotten a lot of love in a Facebook group I’m in, so I had to try it. Is really enjoyed it and now have to get the rest of the series to find out what happens next!
💙📚🪐
Book 11 of 2025: BECOMING by Michelle Obama ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’ve been wanting to read this ever since it came out. I loved it. It definitely gave nostalgic vibes - I really miss having competent leaders. 💙📚
Book 10 of 2025: THE STARLESS SEA by Erin Morgenstern ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is probably my fifth time reading this book; it’s one of my absolute faves. Every time I read it something new stands out. I just love the atmosphere of this novel so much.
📚💙🪐
Book 9 of 2025: Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That’s how it ends?!?!? But seriously, I’ve seen some negative comments about this, but I enjoyed every minute. It was a rollercoaster ride from start to finish, and it’s gonna be a long wait for the next one.

Books 7 and 8 of 2025:
MY BODY IS NOT A PRAYER REQUEST by Amy Kenny ⭐️⭐️⭐️
An important book (and perspective) I think everyone should read, but I didn’t love her writing style.
WALKING WITH GOD by Tim Gray and Jeff Cavins ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A good in-depth overview of the entire Bible.
This is what the government did with 120K+ Japanese Americans in 1942.
I know. I was there in those camps.
My husband surprised me with a copy for our anniversary. It's absolutely gorgeous!
Book 6 of 2025: RHYTHM OF WAR by Brandon Sanderson ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book hit the ground running and Did. Not. Slow. Down. Only Sanderson can write a 1200 page book that feels like it’s 400 #stormlightarchive 💙📚🪐
I’m home alone so naturally I’m singing along to #DefyingGravity at the top of my lungs and sobbing. The only way to get work done on a Friday afternoon.
Book 5 of 2025: IRON FLAME by Rebecca Yarros ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Reread complete! I honestly think this one was better the second time around. Violet’s choices didn’t annoy me as much. Now I’m ready for ONYX STORM! As soon as I finish RHYTHM OF WAR…
💙📚🪐
Yes! That’s probably the main reason I hated reading it that way.
I’m celebrating today by setting up a monthly donation to @aclu.org.
I started RHYTHM OF WAR on Kindle and realized I HATE reading Stormlight in that format. You’d think it’d be easier, but it really bothered me (especially the size of the images). So I had to buy a paperback. Finished Part 2 last night and I am MUCH happier now.

Book 4 of 2025: FOURTH WING by Rebecca Yarros ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Squeezing in an audio re-read before the release of ONYX STORM on Tuesday! This series took me by surprise as I really didn’t expect it to live up to the hype, but I love it.
💙📚🪐
This is correct.
We all knew 2025 was gonna be a shitshow, but after everything we’ve seen in just the first 2 weeks … I’m worried we underestimated just how bad it will be.
