It’s sort of like discord. Without a just as as good replacement a significant portion of any user base isn’t going to quit something online they enjoy just out of the goodness of their hearts because it helps the world.

I’ve been a lot less tolerant of people dismissing anime or games because of tropes and/or putting their personal morality on a game discussion and it’s done wonders for my game discussions IRL and online. A lot of people got too comfortable being able to dismiss stuff without pushback.

One of my least favorite things around AI in video games is when these LLM idiots try to say that "AI has been in video games for decades," as if the routines that tell ghosts to chase Pac-Man are exactly the same as the chat bot claiming there are nine Rs in strawberry.

I have to say now that I’m three games in on Calvard Van is probably my favorite protagonist outside of Estelle for #Trails #Kiseki .

Very well written. Mature in a believable way not a schlock way. Caring but tough. Realistic view of the world he exists in.

One thing I always think is weird is how many people are proud nothing affects them. “Yea man the circumstances of my life don’t bother me, media doesn’t affect me I’m like a stone”. They say straight faced and proud. Meanwhile I’m looking on in extreme pity. 😅

That is #TrailsBeyondtheHorizon completed. Really fun game. Mechanically really strong. Without spoiling I can say my reaction to the ending more than sadness was anger at many of the characters. Damn.
