I STOP WRITING THE POEM to fold the clothes. No matter who lives or who dies, I'm still a woman. I'll always have plenty to do. I bring the arms of his shirt together. Nothing can stop our tenderness. I'll get back to the poem. I'll get back to being a woman. But for now there's a shirt, a giant shirt in my hands, and somewhere a small girl standing next to her mother watching to see how it's done.

Building systems for safe medicines in Gambia: How the government of Gambia responded to a crisis caused by contaminated cough medicine.
In 2022, Gambia faced a crisis when contaminated cough syrup caused the death of 66 children.The country responded swiftly to address the crisis and went on to overhaul its regulatory framework to ensure the highest standards of quality control.
This is Aziza Amina Sahid, WHO’s Risk Communication Expert who is engaging with Chief Ebrima of Massakonko on community mobilising. WHO collaborated with the Medicines Control Agency and Ministry of Health to invest in capacity building and to build a stronger regulatory system for medical products.

The authors examined racial + ethnic disparities in youth mental health treatment in the United States from 2002 to 2019. White youths received more treatment than Black or Hispanic youths. Socioeconomic factors only partly explained these disparities. bit.ly/4c2JPMb
