“Londoners are not anti-development, they just want to be engaged early and see homes built that they find visually appealing.
If we are to deliver 880,000 new homes over the next decade, we must close the gap between what Londoners want and what is getting built. Embedding popular design principles and meaningful early engagement will be essential to maintaining public confidence and delivering the homes our city needs.”
#AssemblyPlanning has written to the Mayor of London warning of a growing disconnect between what Londoners want to see built in their communities and the developments that are actually being delivered. Read the letter in full: www.london.gov.uk/who-we-are/w...

"I am grateful to the Assembly for supporting my motion calling for an Exploitation Board to tackling grooming gangs in the capital. As the Met Police finish their reinvestigation of 9,000 historic grooming cases, we must put in place the means by which authorities can tackle and prevent future abuses. We owe it to the victims and survivors."
MOTION AGREED: The London Assembly has called for the formation of an Exploitation Board, run by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) to tackle grooming gangs.

‘The Cyber Helpline provides a vital service to Londoners for such little cost, and as such I am pleased that the London Assembly has supported my motion calling on the Mayor to ensure this service survives.
Simple harm prevention is available to us through services like the Cyber Helpline and we must ensure they continue to serve Londoners.’
The London Assembly has today called on the Mayor to allocate additional funding to secure the future of the Cyber Helpline. www.london.gov.uk/who-we-are/w...

Neil Garratt AM
Chairman of the London Assembly Budget and Performance Committee
“The Committee would like to be clear on whether changes in deployment represent an increase in neighbourhood policing capacity from a reallocation of resources already working in the neighbourhood or from elsewhere in the MPS.
"We therefore request greater clarity on the baseline position, and on how changes in deployment are defined and measured.
"This would strengthen transparency and enable more effective scrutiny of progress on neighbourhood policing.”
The #AssemblyBudget letter to the Mayor ahead of his final consolidated budget, calls for him to clarify whether the 1,300 extra neighbourhood officers referenced in his election manifesto to be additional police officers and PCSOs or redeployed officers: www.london.gov.uk/who-we-are/w...
