I still want to do this

I am contemplating cutting my hair (I can currently sit on it) and have been looking at a couple stylists/salons in the area but all of them are requiring some sort of personality match quiz to book - what in the ever-living hell. JUST CUT MY HAIR, WE ARENT DATING.

Time change has got me so messed up.

Travelling between time zones during time change is probably one of the dumbest ideas I have ever had (to be fair, I didn't know that time change fell during my trip when I booked it). I am all messed up.

Went to Joann’s today to pick up a few things, jokes on me, despite the store mostly only being 10-20% off it was completely ransacked and the line was longer than any line I’ve ever seen in there. People with heaping shopping carts picking through the wreckage. Made me incredibly depressed.

Randomly there was a really smol beet on the ground near the dumpster of my apartment. I saw it on my way taking out the trash and then forgot about it. Then I turned around and headed back to my apartment, STEPPED ON THE BEET, and rolled my ankle

As if the holiday masses weren’t enough, a school class of what I’m guessing to be 12-14 year olds (approx 30-40) was loose in Target with shopping carts. Unsupervised, unaware, unruly. I’ve never wanted to spontaneously combust more.

Warmed up a frozen burrito in the oven like a fancy person - took one bite, cold in the middle. Nuked it in the microwave to finish warming up, EXPLODES. k. I don't know how heat works.

I have had this intrusive thought for days to arange my art supplies by color and not by medium. This is a TERRIBLE idea, but I cannot stop thinking about it.

I am trying hard not to let it bother me, but here we are, 12 hours later. I am trying to remind myself that hurting people hurt people (she has personal stuff going on) and to let it go - tough as it may be. Working is typically the thief of joy and creativity for me, but today it was my coworker.

But to me, creating art isn’t work. Sure it took my time to make all these things, but she will never understand how incredibly soulfully fulfilling making art, regardless of purpose (self/work/whatever) is. It hurt my feelings that she so easily dismissed something that felt personal.

Today I was building a display at work with a bunch of art pieces I created for said display. One of my coworkers made a snide remark that she didn’t understand why I would do all this, and that I was just creating more work for myself.

This year has been really hard for me creatively. I’ve had a massive creative block when it comes to my own personal projects, however I’ve been on fire with work related endeavors. While I love seeing the things I have created come to life at work every day, it’s not nearly as satisfying.
