My resolution this year is to take back my effort from my job, and put it where it belongs: in my personal life.

I know I'm not entitled to well wishes and cake for my birthday.

But when my partners mom verifies it's my birthday, doesn't wish me a happy birthday, and offers me leftover cake from Thanksgiving that the dog got into
