CONTRACT RATIFIED - Seattle Children’s nurses ratified a new contract after nine months of arduous bargaining that went for 36 bargaining sessions. The nurses successfully fought off the hospital’s aggressively anti-union, anti-nurse proposals.

The WSNA Board of Directors is outraged by the killing of Alex Pretti, RN, at the hands of federal agents in Minneapolis on January 23. Pretti was an ICU nurse working for the Veterans Health Administration and a member of AFGE Local 3669.

ICYMI - For the 24th year in a row, nurses rank No. 1 in Gallup's annual Most Honest and Ethical Professions Poll. The poll of 21 occupations released Jan. 12 found that 75% of Americans — three out of four — consider nurses highly honest and ethical.
