So last week, SecTrans Sean Duffy met with airline CEOS. This week, Duffy announces that 10% of flights at 40 airports will be canceled if the shutdown continues. Coincidence? I think not.

We're on numbers 7 and 8, too! Got our first golden in 1982. First golden had an Irish setter sister, but goldens #2-8 have always had a golden brother (although there have been a year here or there where we only had one). Meet our current boys, Stryker (left, 4 1/2), and Breaker, 3 1/2.
Can governors call out their state's National Guard to prevent other states' National Guard from entering their state? I imagine if one does this, it would lead to a civil war. But with this administration that ignores court orders, what other alternatives do we have?

3:30 pm Not much smoke from the fire anymore. This photo, taken about 2 hours earlier, shows 3 helicopters (one of which is a very tiny dot above the red retardant) and one very large tanker, which is dropping the fire retardant. Last update was 164 acres burned. from my backyard. The hills are JTNP
2:40 it looks like it might be under control now. Not as much smoke, and I don't see the helps anymore. But more fire retardant was just dropped

Fire in Joshua Tree National Park today. So far, there are 2 helicopters dropping water. I'm sure numerous firetrucks are there or on their way. It started about 12:10 this afternoon. Initial assessment was 20 acres; don't know how big it is now.

I'm feeling depressed and despondent due to the political situation in the US. Everyday the headlines bring more bad news, law firms who obey in advance, judges who cave to the administration, colleges that remove LGBQT+ books from the shelves, but leave white supremacist books.
They need a whole lot more than that. Tfg said he would veto such a bill.
