Today, on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we celebrate the women who move science forward on a daily basis, often not getting the credit they deserve.
Hereβs to the women advancing life science today and to the girls who will transform it tomorrow. π
What better way to honour International Epilepsy Day than being able to promote an event to highlight the innovative research being done to better understand epilepsy.
Speaking at this webinar will be @garethmorris.bsky.social and Kate Connor! π§ π§ͺπ¬

Some excitement to start the week! We have a new application note on adrenal gland slices!
Written by Dr Gabriel StΓΆlting, this note highlights what is needed to make slices from both mouse and human adrenal gland samples, and what you can study with them!

Somehow, the last day of #SfN2025 is already here! If you haven't come by, you have to today!
Whether you want to increase your translational cognitive testing capabilities, or have a need to slice fresh tissue (brain, spinal cord, organoids, etc) we may have solutions to make your life easier!
Happy Day 3 at #SfN2025 from San Diego!
The first two days have been packed with great discussions and exciting science!
If youβre here at the meeting, come by our booth and check out the BusseyβSaksida Touchscreen Chamber. Weβd love to show you what it can do and answer your questions. ππ§
#SfN2025 Exhibition Day 2, we are ready for you!
Yesterday was an absolute blast and we can't wait to meet more of you! If you are also here, make sure to stop by the @lafayetteic.bsky.social booth and say hi to @cassdeichsel.bsky.social! There may or may not be some great swag waiting for you.
We are in the final stretch now before we will be in San Diego at #SfN2025!
This week, we wanted to highlight a different application area that we don't discuss so often: research into neuromuscular diseases! From wheel running to tissue slicing, investigating all levels is necessary!
At #SfN2025, learn how Campden Instruments can help you investigate Neurodegenerative Diseases via translational behavioural studies as well as precision tissue slicing of everything from post-mortem samples to patient derived organoids to better understand the mechanistic underpinnings of disease.
At Campden Instruments, we unite cognitive testing with advanced precision tissue slicing, giving researchers the power to correlate behavioural changes in ageing to the cellular mechanisms of learning and memory.
To learn more, come say hi at #SfN2025!
The end of October means we are getting closer to the biggest Neuroscience conference of the year- #SfN2025!
Our sales executive, Cassandra will be attending! If you want to make sure to meet her, why not schedule a meeting? Slots can be booked here: https://ow.ly/vFQu50XkiHE
Hallo Heidelberg! This week we are thrilled to be at #EESOrgan learning about everything organoids! If you are here, make sure to stop by the World Precision Instruments stand to learn more about tools to measure TEER and the 9000SMZ vibrating microtome to slice whatever tissue you want!
Did you know that you can also slice living organoids on a vibrating microtome? It is not the easiest, but is definitely feasible!
To learn more, you can meet our sales executive at the #EESOrgan Meeting next week with our distributor, World Precision Instruments! Will we see you there?
Today, on World Mental Health Day, we support researchers working to understand the brain and translate those insights into real-world impact: from preclinical discovery to clinical progress.
Better science means better mental health for all. π

New series coming up where we highlight Bussey-Saksida Touchscreen Chamber tasks!
First is the 4-Choice Gambling Task! This task is used to investigate decision-making which can be implicated in many neurological and psychiatric disorders.

Our latest application note, drumroll please, is on precision cut liver slices (PCLS)!
Many thanks to Dr Ben Leaker for giving us insights into the how and why PCLS are a useful tool!
If you are interested you can read the full application note here: campdeninstruments.com/downloads/ap...
We're detoxing our feed with a new application note featuring a sample type we don't usually discuss.
Can you guess what sample has been sectioned and what the application note is about from these fluorescent microscopy images?
Comment your guess and see if you were right: ow.ly/2J9c50WYajn
Any #neuroskyence researchers attending #IUPS2025 this week?
@cassdeichsel.bsky.social will be joining npi electronic, @berndpe.bsky.social with the 9000SMZ vibratome! So if you are interested in slice electrophysiology, make sure to come stop by our booth!
So many conferences! This week you will be able to find Campden and a 9000SMZ at the international congress of the Polish Neuroscience Society. We will be spending the week with our fantastic Polish distributor, Animalab. Make sure to come say hi to @cassdeichsel.bsky.social

The annual @cpw-liverpool.bsky.social starts today!
The two-week course enables students to learn how to perform cutting-edge electrophysiology experiments. We are thrilled to support the course by providing a 9000SMZ vibratome.

Our new 9000SMZ vibratome is on tour! If you are at the #BCVS2025 meeting in Baltimore this week, make sure to stop by our sister company, @aurorascientific.bsky.social, stand to see the new model and to learn more about how to make the most physiologically relevant myocardial slices!
Today is World Brain Day, a day that we at Campden prioritise! The day aims to highlight how important the brain is in overall health and increase understanding of disorders. This year's theme is brain health for all ages, demonstrating that disorders can occur to the brain at all stages of life.
Last week we highlighted the final quality checks taking place on the first batch of the 9000SMZ vibrating microtomes, and today we are hitting another major milestone: the new models are being packed and prepared for shipping!
To learn more about the 9000SMZ: shorturl.at/0bQd1
Before it begins entering labs all around the world, final quality control checks of the new 9000SMZ vibrating microtome must take place.
The last step in the process is to evaluate the z-axis deflection, which is crucial for good slices.
Next step is packaging!

If you need help mid-slicing, the built-in help function delivers guidance immediately.
And lastly, if you need help planning your day or knowing when you should probably change your blade, real-time slicing updates and blade change timers can help keep everything on schedule.
Besides an easy-to-use touchscreen, many elements have been added to the interface to improve the slicing experience and increase reproducibility.
So if you are new to the lab, the intuitive, user-friendly set-up will help you begin slicing right away.
