Of all the items of ephemera I have collected over the years, this is, I think, my favourite —a tiny silver diary owned by a 10 year old boy who lived in Arras during WW1. One entry says "Grandma was killed by a shell on the Grand Place". He talks of his uncle who was serving. A real gem #WW1 #FWW

We’re in the south east and are also in drought. Will wait till next Spring I think.

Following an almighty row yesterday, my kids have spent the morning cleaning the house, so they understand what it's like to be a parent. Leaving dirty plates and glasses in bedrooms and the lounge is fine because, as a Dad, it's "your job" to tidy up after us. I am loving this morning....

Me and my boy. He’s had an awful first year at secondary school, he’s been bullied, assaulted and victimised because of his autism. This afternoon who was awarded Student of the Year for his perseverance and stoicism. I don’t normally post this sort of thing but I couldn’t be a prouder Dad tonight.
