Totally. Not as an alternative to laws and Parliament but as a means of forcing the systems to be more accountable and representative by keeping the people informed. If we had a less corrupt system or a fully functioning /independent media we wouldn’t need anything else but sadly not the case.
Just spitballing. The best people would be doing some of this for free already so wouldn’t expect massive pay… just enough for to do it consistently say. Wouldn’t call them “envoys” though. Guardians of Reality? Lolz. Like superheros but the supervillains they fight are evidence-free narratives.

What if we appointed our own “envoys” outside of the political structure. Envoy for actual cohesion/antiracism. First Nations treaty. Envoy to explain the climate catastrophe situation and who’s doing what. Envoy on housing ditto. Corruption etc. Experts who are good at comms, paid by us directly.
