Mine too! Velvette wanted to join the Vees, because why do all the hard work to get power when she could do less work and get it anyway, but Val found her before she was ready to debut to Vox. They hit it off better than either could have expected.

Vox was made to see her and went "yes... maybe."

I'm so glad @/felthearts4 showed me the Tumblr post! Not being Black myself, but wanting more Black characters and for real Black people to be given the attention they deserve, doing this has introduced me to a lot more artists! I hope it does for others as well. <3

Spent a lot of time thinking about what makes a show "For Adults", especially in the animation space.

I think the mark of a truly adult show is not just having mature themes, but being CONFIDENT enough in the portrayal of those themes that you don't handhold your audience through every icky scene.

It's why I wasn't surprised/upset by him returning to Val. I see the arc I think the writers are going for. I know he will reach the point where he will stand on his own feet and recognize those supporting him. Stand alongside those who come for him and want to help him. To respect himself again.

This is *so* important. Especially after S2, where we see that his agency was never just taken from him by his contract with Val, but by Vox literally brainwashing him. He doesn't think being saved as a damsel means anything anyway.

Since season 1, I headcanoned her as touch-averse, but the Voys are the ones where it doesn’t bother her as much. And at first it drove her up the wall to realize she didn’t mind, because it was only business. She wasn’t supposed to be making friends.

Yes! I jive with it. She probably trained herself to use touch/flirtation as a manipulation tactic before, but with Vox and Val it’s become a sincere show of how she cares for them. Or teases them.
