Like you I find it amusing. I do totally respect their food culture. Not going to defend uk random eating times, eating on the go all day & night, over snacking, processed food. But I get the giggles about the Mediterranean food rules 😂

I respect the food culture of Italians, best in the world. I eat well, at regular times, cooking seasonal food from scratch. But your point about eating alone ....yep!. Also sometimes i get homesick for foods of my childhood. Not about good food, nostalgia. But 98% i am eating like Italians.

I do love my food but they are a little rigid about what you eat, how, when. Always talking about what you've eaten, what you'll eat next & how you will cook it.
I made fish & chips & peas at the weekend. 😁

I don't know why Italians can't understand that having a bowl of Weetabix for supper is more than acceptable, I'm sure it's nutritious as well. They can be so dramatic.

Culture, supersistion, fear. Although there was an Australian guy who taught many kids how to swim & set up a programme for people to volunteer time...like you I guess he was shocked. Its a life skill.

Increasingly rare that people don't learn to swim although i've been to islands where many adults & children don't know how. I love being in water....warm water though.

These ambiguous sentences make me want to turn away not open and read.

Me too. Thought it was anxiety related to historical ptsd.
The marketing machine is now huge but i'd have liked doctors to have been better. I felt old & unimportant, like ..go curl up in a corner quietly please. We should be taught about this by health practitioners in our 30's as standard.
