First watches of DOUBLE DRAGON and ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK for @travisnewton.bsky.social and a first watch of REAL STEEL for both of us. Plus, that versus episode is my kind of matchup.

Exactly this. Consider these movies and then ask which of the other four major studios would have made them. Maaaaaybe Universal? But certainly not Disney, and based on their last few years, probably not Sony or Paramount.

You don't have to love all of these movies, but you do have to understand that a studio that makes Sinners and One Battle and Mickey 17 and Wuthering Heights and The Bride and Weapons grasps its responsibility to filmmaking and its own history and tradition in a way that David Ellison does not.
