I've learned more about how I actually like to paint with these two figures than I have done in an age. Really knuckling in and playing with mixes, texture, different highlighting methods and materials... Can't recommend enough just grabbing some paints and doing something utterly for its own sake!

Had a lot of fun trying my hand at recreating some of that classic John Blanche style using the Masterclass sets from @thearmypainter.bsky.social - the one 'outside' paint I allowed myself was Plate Mail Metal for highlights. Not sure I quite hit Blanchitsu heights, but that was a great exercise!

Don’t think having fun is mentioned enough in the hobby. My local group last week was full of laughter, loud exclamations and reactions to dice rolls (for good or for bad). I wouldn’t enjoy a joyless game, an opponent who is a rules lawyer and takes everything super seriously. It’s a game after all

Had a good night at the local club last night, #trenchcrusade campaign in full swing. Fought a pilgrim on pilgrim battle, we agreed two processions had a disagreement, scenario was ‘no man’s land’, pulled off a 14-10 win. MVP was my war prophet, nun and a promoted pilgrim! 2 permanent casualties
