Other countries have independent election commissions. You could look into it and see how it’s done instead of giving up before you’ve even tried.

Elections Canada is pretty much above reproach

An election commission doesn’t preclude that. The commission hires locals to administer the elections locally. Lots of democratic countries have independent elections commissions. You can learn more about them if you’re interested.

It’s a wonder your democracy has lasted as long as it has.

Your federal elections *should* be nationalized, but by an independent, non-partisan election commission. The fact your elections are run by state governments, and the size and shape of congressional districts are determined by elected reps, is bananapants crazy.
