If you see this, give it a like. I'm interested to see how many of my followers my posts actually reach - because I tried this on Twitter and only got double digit views and goose-egg interactions. Bodes poorly for sharing work.

Should artists get a basic income like they do in Ireland? Could the government pay salaries to musicians and artists - no strings attached like they do in Ireland?

The answer to this is obviously yes. Sadly, few who aren't artists consider art to be work, so the idea is generally looked on as some kind of skive, because we rarely look beyond the end of our own noses and are utterly in love with misery.

So a while back I was commissioned to do short bios of various rock stars, and they were just about universally total psychopaths, with the huge exception of Freddie Mercury. A lovely man who did good by his wife, his lovers, and his cats.
