That's like the main thing that's curbed my interest in the game. I don't like action commands in turned based games cause either they're minor enough that they don't need to be there (and are only included cause people complain turn based is "boring") or they invalidate anything the enemies can do

I thought this very thing. Imagine some mysterious stranger showing up in these dark and ominous robes, you're fearing for your life, and then they pull out a fishing rod and spend the next 5 hours depopulating the nearest body of water of all the fish.

Have them be both deep/fun to play and distinct from each other. Like if we did do that you're not going to have a Clive with all the crap he had, you'd probably more have a DMC1 Dante with just enough to feel like a complete character and that's it.

Technically we could include up to 14 cause you can make your WoL a woman and we've played as female NPCs like 3 or 4 times throughout MSQ, but yeah. I will say if we want to do that we can't really be doing full action anymore cause it's really hard to have multiple playable characters and 1/

What's whack is that that's only like three numbers ago at 13, which came out 16 years ago.

As a Final Fantasy fan I've just become deaf to that nonsense because it happens every game. I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment.
