May have just had a minor crash out at work.
A coworker is complaining about having to go to one of the Channel Islands for 3 days for a job.
Like…my guy…you’re taking a boat to an island & sitting on a beach watching whales & dolphins & sea lions…while getting paid.

Right now it’s realizing that people who say they love me preferred me when I was quieter/smaller/more palatable. Now that I’ve drawn boundaries with them bc they’re not really safe spaces for me, I’m being difficult/unreasonable/mean.
When really I’m protecting myself bc they didn’t & still won’t.
Trying to explain to people that the person they knew before was masking a lot and barely hanging on is exhausting sometimes, especially when they don’t really make an effort to understand the person you’re becoming.
I wrote this late last year, and I came back to it recently. It’s a reminder to myself that healing isn’t linear, and the person who is healing isn’t the same one who started the journey…no matter how much people who knew you before wish you’d “just get better and back to your old self.”
