There is a lot more opposition going on than you are apparently aware of. And elections are controlled by the states not the federal government in the US, so the felon can't suspend them. And Martial Law is still a ways off, in part because we know how to work our system to avoid getting there.

We have done it multiple times in our history, and we will do it again.

Every group of people find their own way to resist dictators, what works for 1 group won't work for others. And the US is a huge pile of a ton of different groups. Each group will find their own stride and make their own Good Trouble. And that will do the job.

A general strike in a population of 350 million people is almost impossible. Especially when the vast majority of those people live paycheck to paycheck.
