14:00 EST on a Saturday works well as it is 19:00 in the UK, and 20:00 on the continent.
00:00 just isn't viable for anyone with a healthy sleep schedule.

This might be the final straw that causes me to end my OGWN subscription.
The early week OGWNs are just book marketing excercises now, so I was only around for the shows you helmed.
Is there somewhere else you will be podcasting I can throw money at (in addition to the brilliant Origina Story)?
One of the greatest albums of recent times now has a cute min-documentary covering it's creation π€©

Agreed

The troll isn't going to change their mind, but you could save someone else from being swayed by their perspective.
That argument falls flat with Twitter now an account is required to view it
I feel like arguing on Reddit has some value as people use it as reference - appending Reddit to Google searches to get an actual answer to questions.
Correcting an inaccuracy there has the possibility to make a difference.
No one is referencing Bluesky.
The relief when it pulls away from a kerb sharply resulting in a brief blast of cool air through the window π

Result is crispy on the outside, but still soft on the inside.
With TPM disabled in UEFI BIOS it will consider your PC un-upgradeable.

I'd much rather see Layla Moran - it's a travesty she lost out to Ed Davey.
Evolution is too slow, and doesn't really care about post-reproductive life.
We are living longer, but for many later life is plagued with health conditions as the body winds down hormone production.
HRT prevents this unnecessary decline, pain, injury, and pressure on the health services.
I've heard it said they are an open design, and anyone could manufacture them.
Brad would know for sure.
It's never made sense for anyone too, because Valve sell them with pretty slim margins considering the QA required.
It's a pretty niche product for a company to get into.
Deckard is definitely SLAM tracked, so won't /need/ Basestations, but it's plausible they stick a couple of photodiodes on it for playspace merging purposes.
03.07.2025 19:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0They're actually still in stock on Steam in the UK, and I think the Netherlands.
I have bought four at Valve prices in preparation for Beyond 2E.
Strangely HTC also have them discounted to "only" Β£10 more than Steam in a Summer sale ATM.
It's possible they could put them on sale in the US too.
In addition to lenses, 6-DOF tracking is also not easy.
I am still hoping Shiftall's Contact Track amounts to something. It could provide the Lighthouse replacement we need, using cheaper, simpler components.
Outside-in was dropped too early. It's the best approach to tracking for VR IMHO.
That'd be the DPVR E4, but it sucks in all the same ways the Rift S does.
I'd much rather a true sequel to the Rift CV1.
A return to outside-in would allow for lighter, more affordable HMDs.
I had hope for DiverX ContactTrack, but that's been a let-down so far.
@youngvulgarian.marieleconte.com should consider Roller Derby for her column!
London is home to 7 teams spread over 3 leagues, including brilliantly named "Batter C Power", and "Docklands Fight Railway".
"Southern Discomfort" (mens) are playing Kent and Nantes this coming Saturday in NW London.

04.05.2025 08:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Women are unsafe on a daily basis - statistically due to men they already know. Want to make women safer?
Change rape laws, fund refuges properly, end femicide, address misogyny in boys and men, improve healthcare.
Taking aim at trans women does nothing to make women safer.
There is so such thing as a "biological woman".
"Woman" is a social construct so cannot be "biological'.
Both are impossible to strictly define.
Gender is a social construct, and sex is a bimodal collection of characteristics.
Neither can be practically tested for/determined.
That's okay. Just let people self-identify their gender as the expert on themselves, and consign sex to medical records only.
I am pretty sure "biological woman" and "biological sex" are not defined in law, so can this ruling be said to provide clarity?
They have just pinned one impossible to define thing into another impossible to define thing π€¨
I see this all the time in my job with users not reading error messages.
It's like pulling teeth to get them to read me the error message that is on their screen word for word.
It's like a block of text where they didn't expect it intimidates them into helplessness, whereas I see helpful info.
I dunno, "please suspend your disbelief" can mean "let us get away with our contrived, poorly thought-out/planned writing".
If a work of fiction is meant to be grounded in reality, then it needs to make sense.
Haven't seen Ludvig (no TV licence), but the concept doesn't appeal.
Also worth saying that "self-diagnosis" is often at least partially actually a peer-diagnosis.
The exploration to arrive at a self-diagnosis is often kickstarted, and encouraged by someone who has an "official" diagnosis, because they recognise elements of themselves in someone else.
I had to look up who that is π³
I think most people seeing it would think you like South Park, and it'll be the minority who 1) Know of Robert Smith 2) Recognise the depiction of him
Of course that criticism hinges on you caring what strangers think π€·
It's a critical mass thing.
Unfortunately the VR hardware community is still there.
Possible that that the tech-bro-y portion of that community is large enough to hold the rest of it hostage effectively.
I don't get the appeal of South Park, and by all accounts it's creators are pretty problematic so the South Park one.
The rest sound great!
I am choosing to believe that a significant amount were politically disengaged, and were actually just voting "Red".
