I saw him in July, and he did, and I had that exact thought

That’s the “complete novel” version which in my opinion is mostly better than the theatrical version. I went through an SE Hinton movie thing about a decade ago and I saw both versions of The Outsiders, Rumble Fish (also great), and Tex (a Disney movie featuring a drug deal scene).

Five of the first six CDs I ever owned, all from June/July 1985. (I still have the sixth—Ocean Rain—but it’s in storage.)
