Idaho Republicans pass bill requiring educators and doctors to forcibly out trans kids to their parents if they identify as another gender. Parents can sue, and the Atty Genl can impose fines up to 100k. ID has already banned GAC for minors.
The best thing about this thread is a demo of how blueMaga understands responsibility: unless Biden personally teargassed protesters, he’s not responsible for their suppression. But every person who didn’t vote is personally responsible for ICE etc. Also the “debate me bro” vibe is strong lmao

These same people who complain about the students also say you’re supposed to hold your nose and vote for the lesser evil *cough*Newsom*cough* and then pressure them to go left, and don’t understand that the lesson has already been received that there will be no movement to the left
This was me. I decided that since she was going to win my state i would vote 3rd party, and then i voted dem down the ballot. However, those dems have supported trump at such rediculously high rates that i now regret voting for them.
Here at UCLA cops stood by and watched as our student protestors were attacked at night by an organized gang of violent counter protesters, not one of whom faced any consequence.
Then the next night Admins invited more cops onto campus to attack the victims of that attack.
Compounding the problem is the fact that a large and profitable industry has arisen around voting, so there’s an army of pundits out there with a financial incentive to exalt voting as the One True Way, despite protest being the cornerstone of every inch of progress this country’s made.
It's a weird, idk, juxtaposition.
Define voting, probably the lowest effort political action to do in a healthy democracy as the pinnacle while dismissing an action that has social repercussions and physical danger, protesting, as lazy and pointless
as a prof. at an immigrant-heavy community college I'd also say a lot of students & faculty who were visibly protesting are now working like crazy to project immigrant students in ways that aren't as visible to the public but are so crucial. we're spread thin, exhausted and depressed but we're here
This is correct, imo. A Democratic administration successfully broke students' will to protest. They won nothing and faced massive consequences. NO ONE stood up for their free speech rights among mainstream pundits.
Now they're to blame for the Biden administration's success at repressing them? No.
sigh forget my comment numbering. Dems are still afraid of being called soft on crime, and despite the entire history of policing in the US being all about racism, misogyny, sexual abuse, and corruption they still refuse to do anything about it.
Democratic leaders failed to rise to the occasion and condemn the police brutality on display against protestors expressing their first amendment rights. It more than likely cost them the election. Stop crying about it and learn to win an election.
Under capitalism, new technology isn’t mainly about freeing workers. It’s used to raise profits by tightening control over workers, simplifying jobs, and weakening worker power.
