Did a small section of "El Camino de Santiago" with my nephews, my brother and my girlfriend. Not for the certification but for the experience. Only did 40km in 3 days but what a spiritual high. Might do it in the future again. Defintely recommend!

#NoNosMoveran just got 15 nominations by the Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences) including best sound!

I was the #FoleyEditor back in 2022. So proud that it's doing so good! 🙌🏼🔊

dialogue line that comes feels low and I turn the volume back up to hear the lines...rinse and repeat. Ad infinitum.
In my mixes I like to mix everything against DX and try not to push music and SFX up too far from DX to achieve a more consistent level and avoid this.

a show on the TV, I like to set the volume to where the dialogue feels comfortable and with a certain bite...the problem imho is when the music cues come blarring out at max level, with no attenuation, so I end up reaching for the remote to lower the volume to a pain-free level, but then the next..

Something else I often notice is that there a tendency, specially in series, to always mix music cues at the full volume the track was originally mixed (that is, with no attenuation on the fader) while all of the other elements are playing with a certain attenuation on the fader. When I'm watching..

Yes it would be for Pro Tools. And you're right. The video engine uses about 5GB if RAM alone.
Maybe go for the 24GB version to be sure?

Fellow soundies who also teach;
Will a base model Macbook Air (10 cores CPU, 16GB RAM + an external SSD) be enough for handling basic edit/mix sessions in the classroom?

Also, note to self: Need to work on my library's metadata...

Normally January-March are busy months for me but this year I think I broke my own record. 😅
These past 3 months I edited the dialogue of:
2 feature films.
3 episodes for an Amazon series.
With a bit of sleep deficit but happy about being part of such great projects! 👊🏼

AI for pitching ideas and then realizing them with HI: Sure.
AI for teaching/replacing teachers: Abso-fucking-lutely never.

The normalization of AI, the rise of people using phones in theaters, the advent of influencers over writers all stems from the same anti-art mentality. The commodification of creativity to the point that people feel entitled to steal from artists to create soulless AI slop.

Here’s another great film I’ve been quietly advocating behind-the-scenes for with Warner Bros. for a few years, and I’m VERY pleased to reveal that it’s finally coming to #4K #UltraHD in the months ahead: Stanley Kubrick’s BARRY LYNDON (1975)! Can’t wait! @thedigitalbits.bsky.social #physicalmedia

I'm very worried lately that if fascism is tolerated, normalized and institutionalized in the US, it will then spread to México and the rest of America.
We had fascism in America in the 70s and 80s under Pinochet and it wasn't pretty. Just ask Chileans...
