Also, for anyone not into genealogy, while DNA matching with others is very, very accurate, the sites offering to show your origins via your DNA are totally "for entertainment purposes only." At best it can show trends or information you might find worth pursuing via actual genealogical research.

Ah, I see Ancestry finally updated their "DNA Origins" info again. Having a well-built out tree over decades, it's always interesting to see what they get right and what they get wrong.

I was remembering the story about Lucas being perturbed about hiring Liam Neeson because it meant he needed to make the sets he appeared in taller. And of course his frustrations whenever an actor had real questions about a character's motivations when attempting the wooden dialogue he often wrote.

Not that Disney isn't probably thinking about it, but at least they seem to want to be viewed as valuing creatives and some level of artistic merit. And hopefully they know how such a move would be received. They may not actually care about the art of acting but they do care about the money.

With all the news stories about an AI "actress", I just realized how glad I am that George Lucas doesn't still own Star Wars. With his views and frustrations with real actors, he'd almost certainly be embracing the chance to play with digital dolls to turn out soulless Star Wars AI slop movies.
