Arizona's dynamic food and dining scene was recently in the national spotlight when Food Network released a list of the best things to eat in the state as part of their United Plates of America series.

The list was authored by contributing writer Jackie Alpers, a Tucson-based cookbook author. As such, some of her recommendations are based on restaurants that are available only in Tucson. But overall, we still thought the list was a pretty good representation of the state, specifically five dishes that you can find almost anywhere in Arizona.

These are the five Arizona foods we're totally on board with that made Food Network's list, and where to get them in metro Phoenix.
