I spent some time this weekend playing with the dyepot. All colors were obtained using various food coloring. The sock blank is doubled DK sock yarn loosely crocheted, and will became matching socks for Wool-aid. #handdyed ๐งถ #yarn #sockblank
โฆand the scarf is finished! The weft was dyed and spun by me. I love how the color shifts throughout this scarf. It has been added to my Wool-aid pile waiting for my next shipment. #woolaid #handdyed #handspun #weaving #rigidheddleloom ๐งถ
It is 10โ Ashford Sampleit rigid heddle loom. It fits on my lap and is the perfect size for scarves.
My bright and funky hand-dyed handspun yarn is becoming a woven scarf! ๐งถ #weaving #handspun #rigidheddleloom #woolaid
Lunch today consists of leftover BBQ chicken, mosaic crochet squares, and Dandelion Wine. Why have I never listened to Ray Bradbury before? This book is so poetic. #crochet #mosaiccrochet ๐งถ #audiobooks #raybradbury
I like to weave my worsted scraps on a 4โ Zoom Loom to use them up. Once I have enough, I will join them together into a colorful blanket. I now have 50 squares - halfway to a baby sized blanket. #zoomloom #pinloom #weaving #scrapblanket ๐งถ
A treat for the freaks!
I am loving the color and feel of this BFL! #spinning #eew #handspun #espinner #yarn ๐งถ
Pulled out the espinner this morning. Wool was dyed by me almost 2 years ago! #handspun #yarn #espinner ๐งถ
Knit socks for myself are finished and blocked. The thermal stitch is soft and squishy! Next socks I want to try toe up with a fleegle heel. #knit #knitting
That tab is so cute and practical! I added the pattern to my Rav library - thanks for sharing.
Finished scarf with reclaimed merino as warp. I love the drape that using multiple strands of lace weight creates. #weaving #rigidheddleloom #reclaimedyarn #woolaid
I started a mosaic crochet blanket for myself yesterday! I donโt have enough done to share yet, so I am instead sharing some pictures of a mosaic crochet blanket that I made for my parents for Christmas 2023. #crochet #mosaiccrochet ๐งถ
This newest scarf in progress just glows!! #weaving #woven #rigidheddleloom #woolaid
Next scarf is on the loom. I am using multiple strands of lace weight reclaimed merino wool for the warp. #reclaimedyarn #woven #rigidheddle #woolaid
Woven scarf finished - I love how it came out. This picture is more true to color than the WIP picture. #weaving #rigidheddle #woolaid
Progress on my socks ๐งถ I like to make them TAAT to avoid the dreaded second sock syndrome, but I also prefer DPNs. They arenโt exactly at the same time, but hitting milestones at close to the same time so that I donโt forget counts and/or mods. #knitting
That looks so fun with the lighter strandalong!
February โsurprise skeinโ challenge selection was a purple Cloudborn superwash. I paired it with a coordinating fingering from stash for this cabled hat. Turned out a bit smaller than planned, but that is one benefit of knitting to donate - it will fit someone! #knitting #woolaid
Wonderful texture - what is the pattern?
Iโd go with the berry pink or maybe dark purple to keep from getting too busy. I think a more solid color provides stability to a fun variegated yarn.
Two pieces of an in progress baby set for Wool-Aid. Just need to finish the hat, make some mitts, and wash the little pieces and the set will be ready to go. The little stripey sweater turned out adorable. #knitting #woolaid
The February hat is a nice one. You may have inspired me to cast one on soon!
Cast on some socks for myself during the SNL 50th show last night. Finally using this lovely yarn from the 2022 MN yarn shop hop! #knitting #mnyarnshophop
Great book & Great socks!
I couldnโt resist making one of these adorable granny square chickens. I used selections from my fingering scrap bin, so she is only about 3โ tall. #crochet #chicken
You are correct that many commercial sweaters are cut and serged and are not worth trying to unravel. However, with many sweaters you are able to harvest large continuous hanks. The key is being able to identify good seams.
Glad you found it! It is a very friendly and welcoming group
This hat turned out better than I had hoped. Yarn was reclaimed from a thrifted cashmere sweater that was white with a black/grey print (wish I had a pic!) The reclaimed yarn was lace weight and speckled. I held 4 strands together for this simple hat. Itโs so soft! #cashmere #knitting #reclaimedyarn
Happy Valentines! This hat is probably the only thing Iโve ever made with hearts. Made by request a few years ago by someone who rarely asks me to make her anything. Pattern is Valentines Day beanie by Jeri Sullivan. #knitting
