We find the defence sector driving demand across the board, and the minerals requiring the most significant increases in production are needed for EVs.

Talk around the 'green transition' often touts the need for huge increases in mineral mining.

But our findings show that small diversions of minerals from other uses would facilitate the ‪International Energy Agency's renewable energy goals without the need for increasing production.

Our message to governments everywhere: Stand up to Trump.

Unless governments stand together, they will continue to see their sovereignty stripped from them. Unless they start to build an economy which puts the protection of ordinary people and our planet at its core, they will be doomed to paying the Emperor in the White House ever higher tribute.

Trump is trying to create a world order in which corporate America rules supreme, unobstructed by the sovereignty of any other government. Such a profoundly undemocratic economy is not in the interests of American workers, any more than it is in the interests of the vast majority of humanity.

Trump’s trade negotiations style might be highly erratic, but his is a clear-cut end goal: To upend the world economic system, replacing rules which were already unfair with the absolute dominance of the biggest bully.

Now that countries have capitulated on tariffs, Trump will be back for more Governments should stop handing Trump unnecessary victories and stand up to him. This is the only way to defeat him.

Trump's tariff and trade deal strategy is clear: bully governments to change their rules and regulations in favour of US corporate interests, especially those of oligarchs who surround him.
