First batch has arrived. 15 wooden hair pins. 14 pairs and a singleton. I'll have to sit with them, listen & look, feel out their individual magic.

The next 20 are all the same pattern, with 2 holes. Those get here tomorrow.

I'm of the ex-Boy Scout school of "Be Prepared". All of my herbal spells are mixed/prepared and ready for use at need.

This is sort of taking it a step further. Having spells set on the jewelry, always running, cleansed and charged as needed. These will be only personal use.

Specific stones and materials choices connected to the elements.

Some permanent spellwork like: protection, healing, luck, reversing, patience, ancestral call, and various things.

I generate a lot of energy and also store it in my jewelry. I'm confident I can keep any spells charged as well.

I've ordered about 35 wooden hair pins. 20 with pre-drilled holes. 🤷‍♂️ I might have overdone it but I've got ideas I want to try out.

This particular idea builds on my jewelry as part of my magic foundation. Especially as I incorporate the elements into it.

My husband claims that I have an unnatural level of patience. It seems to be growing with age rather than decreasing. 🤷‍♂️ I just know that more information always comes from waiting and watching. I save my energy until needed.

That particular book is out on loan to one of my students. It's not by Ralph Blum though. That much I remember. I started with Blum's original 2 books back in 1989.

Likely my surface level of education. Terminology evolves, and I created this over 30 years ago. I had just 1 book at the time about layering runes for specific purposes and if it referred to Bindrunes, I simply don't remember.

Runic talismans/sigils are created by layering individual runes on top each other. The person connects/overlaps each in a way that is personal & they feel lets the energies flow, mingle, and interact with each other.

This 1 has 3 chosen runes, but a 4th is present as a bonus due to it's foundation.

Clarification: I avoid Nordic mythology for personal reasons, including co-opting by white nationalists and Nazi Germany. I refuse to allow the runes to be stolen though. Their divination abilities, as well a talismans use, cannot be allowed to just fade away without gentle opposition by me.

I use Germanic runes to honor part of my heritage, though I avoid the mythology connected.

As I examine my life, I've realized that when I went against these 4 things, or when they were violated, it always went wrong. It's part of my personality and my Autistic expression. No platitudes, fake compliments, white lies, or side stepping. I mean what I say, no more, no less.

Yup. My Porch Domain is my work space, my consulting office, my Sanctuary, and spiritual retreat.

It saves my husband his privacy, keeps out random energy of others, and allows me to fulfill Porch Troll duties of shaking my fist at passersby. Gotta guard my lawn!

Thank you. I've become rather happy with doing the temporary altars, shifting with the need, bringing it to life on the Porch. Letting dawn's 1st light cover it. Noon's power engulfing it. Sunset's twilight shadowing it. Bringing it inside & knowing its purpose completed. Putting everything away.
