Yes it is scary, I would recommend master duel and some of its solo mode stuff, because ranked is hell, but just do proper research before spending money on anything!!
There are also (I think free?) TCG online simulators that you can use any card, I don't know what they are tho

But yougioh in general is a deceptively simple game, it's bogged down by wordy effects to limit how many times you can do things or limit things you can search.
Still is fun imo, but it has a bit of a higher bar for entry, esp physical tcg

It's funny bc yummy is like, a deceptively simple archetype, with a lot of layers of interactions
Basically you play one of the base yummys, go into their link which pulls a spell from the deck, then brings the other 2, then you make a synchro and that's it
It's what you do after that's difficult

This fucking card set single handed almost made me play TCG again
Hell I had to play master duel to remind me of yugioh and look at the cost of it
