The fact that the only way these games continue to be engaging for people is just drip feeding sequentially coked up monsters that cater to build obsessed maniacs is crazy.

the hunters can do literally everything now so the game’s balancing feels like it’s stupidly easy or teeth grindingly strict.

I’ve legendarily played almost all of this franchise on my lonesome and grew to love the little extra side things that kind of gave me fresh breathers between these big climactic fights.

The farm in Freedom 2, tri/3u‘s progressive building up of Moga Village and all the management. It felt alive.

I gotta come clean, I miss proper portable gaming, but that mostly stems from me missing the play space of portable Monster Hunter.

Pulling the game out to do your regular item prep, gathering runs and generally building up to the hunts.

Everything being so automatic kinda numbed me with new gen.
