Powerful statement from the law firm representing the largest cohort of survivors in the Fayed / #Harrods abuse scandal, including my wife and almost every survivor who has bravely spoken in the 3 documentaries so far.
The only law firm that doesn't say "how high?" when Harrods asks them to jump.
From @bloomberg.com today.
More facts that Harrods wanted hidden.
A SIX-FIGURE PAYOUT to a 24-year-old r4pe survivor processed through Harrods' OWN PAYROLL.

Carrie Lazell, who says she was sexually assaulted by the late Harrods boss Mohamed Al Fayed when she worked at the store, speaks to @vicderbyshire.bsky.social about what she describes as โdecades of abuse of womenโ.
#Newsnight
You're not wrong....
He was well alive when I began this. It takes a long time to expose such a monster unfortunately.
The incredibly brave Carrie speaks to @vicderbyshire.bsky.social on @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social tonight.
Carrie speaks publicly for the first time about her appalling experience at #Harrods & her wish for police to investigate senior management there.
Some of whom, she says, are still working there.

What has been revealed so far is truly only the tip of the iceberg.
The wealth of research I amassed over eight years has now provided "hundreds of new lines of inquiry" for the police investigation.
I look forward to assisting the APPG in holding those complicit to account.
Today, all the survivors I work with & I welcome this powerful new support in Parliament.
We look forward to working alongside the APPG to fully expose #Harrods and all those enablers who mistakenly still think they have gotten away with their complicity.

Apology: Yes. damages: No.
What happened was unacceptable, but with the 2 biggest possible scalps & an apology then that should quench those out for blood.
Especially as the 2 people who stood down really didn't need to have done so.
Others far more culpable should have done the honourable thing.
Agreed.
The BBC has questions to answer, certainly.
And I am in a position to know that not 'everything' has come out yet.
However, perhaps Davie 'had' to be seen to go due to Trump weighing in - but I don't believe Deborah Turness should have stepped down. There are others far more deserving to.
Watching various news outlets slamming the BBC with "marks its own homework" & "the buck stops at the top" etc.
Phrases that also fit #Harrods perfectly.
Unlike invisible Harrods MD Michael Ward though, Tim Davie at least had the sheer good grace to do the honourable thing & stand down.
Slightly mixed feelings on this, but I guess some respect is due to Tim Davie for standing down as BBC Director General.
But I'm not sure Deborah Turness was the right person to leave in a secondary capacity - there are people far more deserving of going, I'd have said.

Congrats to Sir Alan & immense respect for standing so strong against the immense pressure to accept paltry sums previously.
Complicit #Harrods should take note: our hundreds of incredible survivors - many whose lives & careers were destroyed - will also not accept pathetic sums on 'your' terms.

Again, these figures don't relate to the HUNDREDS of other survivors represented elsewhere who simply won't touch Harrods own *insulting* in-house scheme & pay lawyers they chose.
If they think they're in the red now, they're in for a BIG shock.

3/3. Remember this ๐๐๐๐
2/3 Turns out telling my wife to essentially "go pound salt" was perhaps not the smartest move, eh Harrods?
Your disrespectful, dismissive and arrogant letters over the years only fuelled my investigation into your complicity with Fayed's abuse.
Only part of which has been revealed to date.
1/3 Very important to note that the figures quoted in the @financialtimes.com article relate ONLY to Harrods own *appalling* in-house settlement scheme - & paying the lawyers 'they' appointed.
Not the HUNDREDS of other survivors represented elsewhere who won't touch it.

Whilst hugely positive that SO many survivors now feel strong & SAFE enough to report their accounts to the police...
It is also GLORIOUS to know just how MANY enablers MUST realise they have been NAMED multiple times & that 'knock on the door' is COMING!

'More Than 140 People Report Crimes To Fayed Police Investigation'.
I support and encourage all survivors to report their circumstances to the Police.
As I have said many times to many survivors:
If we want arrests - then the Police do need to know.

How kind of Qatar to gift a Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet to Donald Trump.
But perhaps the $400 MILLION donation could have been far better served going some way towards restitution for hundreds of survivors of the abuse suffered at Harrods, which Qatar owns.

Kelly Walker-Duncalf has been succesful in delaying her infamy.
But it is inevitable.
An army of survivors united and who hold her firmly responsible for their abuse will ensure that.
Along with broadcasting the continued horror stories I hear regarding her actions.
