Every December for the last 30 years, my godparents have sent me an advent candle.
I now do the same for my godchildren.
This year, for his first advent, my son has one too, gifted to him by his godmother.
Long may this tradition continue.

Many things about motherhood have surprised me but most surprising of all is that I now have an overwhelming desire to sneak frozen chopped spinach into every meal my child eats. Gotta get that sweet sweet iron.
