‘It beggars belief’: MoD sources warn Palantir’s role at heart of government is a threat to UK’s security Experts say that claims UK data remains under government ownership miss the point that the company has the capability to build its own detailed picture of the British population, and even infer state ...

NEW: Two senior MOD whistleblowers with inside knowledge of Palantir's systems have come forward to @thenerve.news to say government ministers are ignorant of the grave national security risks the technology poses.

Anthony's TV

This is the default configuration of Samsung TV. GB News has bought prime spot.

What this meant was that racist chat entered my front room yesterday ("foreign NHS workers can't speak English").at 6.30pm with my six year old listening.

How can Ofcom just sit back and let this happen?

It’s gonna be a pretty solid weekend if social media is flooded with clips of Laura Loomer getting her ass handed to her in-person by Indian journalists. Shout-out to Rajdeep Sardesai for kicking off the festivities.

It's no longer OK for you to sit in the house of Lords because your dad did.
But if your mate put you there?
That's fine.
Neither of these really feel like democracy to me.

Hi Tom

The books arrived safely this morning, thank you.

If you are looking for the top of your pen, I have it!

Cheers,
Diane

Wondering, instead of the standard procedure of including quotes by celebs and newspapers on the jacket of my next book, printing a selection of comments and reviews by readers on there instead. I think this one is an absolute must.

Hereditary Peers Bill passes in House of Lords, paving the way for further reform The Hereditary Peers Bill has passed in the House of Lords in one of the biggest reforms to Parliament and UK democracy in a generation.

And it is done. Who your dad is no longer gives you a guaranteed say on the law of the land. We have tonight done what so many Labour people have sought to do throughout our history: no more hereditary peers

There’s never enough money for schools or healthcare or veterans.

But there’s always enough money to bomb people on the other side of the world.

We can support the democracy movement in Iran without bombing innocent schoolchildren and sending our American troops off to die.

You know the best way to kill AI? Don't use it. Don't buy it. Don't share it. Don't give the people who use it your labour or your money.

It took Trump 10 days to create an energy crisis reminiscent of the 1970s, replace Ayatollah Khamenei with Ayatollah Khamenei, and weaken our alliances worldwide. He put American servicemembers in harm’s way, resulting in seven deaths. None of this made you safer or better off.

It’s now almost 2 months since Nigel Farage was scheduled to appear on #bbclaurak as part of her Leaders Interview but pulled out due to being “under the weather”

He’s currently in America supporting a foreign president over his own country

that the Trump administration is trying to shut down a leading AI company because it’s unwilling to develop autonomous murder systems is terrifying, and should be of grave concern to everyone in the world

Yesterday, the White House used Call of Duty frames in their Iran war hype video.

They are hyping the prospect of war like an exciting video game.

Yes, I know this administration has no bottom.

No class, no integrity, no honor, no decency.

Yet they never cease to shock me.

Wait. They are releasing Epstein files to distract Americans from the war in Iran now?

I had this with a different retailer, they flatly refused to fix it and just kept telling me my delivery was on its way. I ended up texting the person from the number in the order confirmation email and sorting it out with them which felt pretty uncomfortable.

I particularly resent rags like Daily Mail gleefully reporting Trump’s bullying of Starmer. It’s disloyal and hypocritical - they’d be screaming from rooftops if U.K. meekly followed European diktats, yet would have us unquestioningly kowtow to Trump. Starmer’s task is incredibly difficult.

No it doesn’t tell you much, let alone everything, which is a pretty tired and thoughtless cliché. Also MPs need exercise too don’t they?

I'm increasingly convinced that Pete Hegseth is a sadist with a fetish for violence.

The grotesque relish in his perversely detailed descriptions of firepower and domination is deeply disturbing.

Anyone with his psychological profile should be nowhere near military decision-making.

I don’t think I could be any more disgusted with some of the British media

Whether you agree with your PM or not, in a situ like this, you do not become a mouthpiece for a foreign President to actively scheme against your own PM

It is the antithesis of patriotism & just plain wrong

I think there was tactical voting, but in hindsight wasn’t necessary given the vote share. The greens won the argument about who was the tactical choice and therefore a bigger vote share than perhaps they might have done. But with or without tactical voting Goodwin would have lost.

Unfortunately, support for the beliefs that undergird this kind of action aren't fringe in the US. Surveys shows that 1/3 of Americans—and ~2/3 of White Evangelical Christians—hold Christian nationalist views, and similar numbers believe that we're living in the end times, with Christ's return near.

I wish they would, most Labour members want it. I think the argument used to be that it would let parties like reform in but that doesn’t work any more. The polarisation of our system wastes so much energy.

Nigel Farage lied multiple times at his press conference today - including saying no-one who voted Green in Gorton and Denton has a job and he's "certain" Reform won most British born voters in the by-election, based on zero evidence, and yet not a single journalist there pushed back on them

I believe you can still start HRT quite a long time after menopause and that it can still be helpful re bone and cardiovascular health. Not many studies done as yet I don’t think.

Uncut Trumpism. No election is valid unless they win it. Farage and Reform UK are outright enemies of democracy and the Mail is actively aiding them.

As journalists working today many of us are taught to recognise disinformation when we see it and fight back against it.

Unfortunately there are some who willingly seek it out and put it on their front pages. A disgrace to the profession.
