They got some photographer or media guru in that told them that they look more powerful with a low angle and hips forward. In fact it screams bellend. so leave them to it.

So in short Red robes but with KC- circuit Judge. Red robes without KC could be HCJ or CJ, given away by title Mr/MrsJustice = HCJ. Part time recorders wear their bar robes whether silk or stuff, depending on rank. None of those in red are “recorders drafted in”. hope this helps.

Those in red are not part time recorders, they hold Honourable recorderships of cities and are allowed to wear the red regalia. They are full time Circuit judges. Ordinarily High Court Judges wear red robes. But if you see KC - not a High Court judge as the rank is relinquished upon appointment.

But delay does mitigate. Very difficult to send someone in who would get say 3 years, if they are not even charged for 3 years and their case isn’t heard for another two. This is now normal.

Significant delay is always a mitigating factor. I deal with cases every day that would have attracted custody had they been dealt with quickly. But we are now dealing with delays of 5years +.

They will be prioritised so the message goes out. This is not the Government reacting, it is the independent judiciary enforcing the rule of law.

Violent public disorder demands swift and heavy sentencing. It undermines everyone’s sense of security. it is the same nape as it was in the 2011 riots. Deterrent sentences are necessary.

Most sentences so far imposed have been Crown Court on committal for sentence

It is like no one in the media understands credit for guilty plea. Even the most challenged of defendants understand this concept. Moreover comparing apples with oranges.

We have a false widow in the corner of our conservatory. We call it Boris. We have an entente cordiale - we leave it alone, and it deals with the wasps and hornets in the summer. He’s now part of the family. He’s an Entwistle not a Johnson.

I remember how hurtful that was. i thought i was out. But a week later I was celebrating. After all weren’t we all deeply average as pupils? isn’t it about what we have the capacity to become?

Overhearing myself described as “deeply average” by another tenant a week before my tenancy decision. Still resonates now.

Judge Christopher Parker told Wheatley: Police officers do not go to work on the basis they should be set upon by idiotic , violent hooligans. Over the last fortnight the country has had the pleasure of watching young men and women from all kinds of heritage and background, striving in France. Well-honed athletes who are proud to be Britons and of whom Great Britain is proud. You chose to don a flag and move at what may be your top speed - but that is when the parallels end.

Judge sentences a rioter who, draped in a union flag, ran into police officers “like a rhinoceros”. #riots #uklaw
