#ungradingchat I used to be a very strict "no late work" teacher. Now, I accept work late with no penalty. I remind my sts that having your HW done on time benefits your learning bc we discuss the problems the next day - that seems to motivate MOST of them.
It's about the learning - not the grade.

I have been practicing #Ungrading in my HS ELA & undergraduate education courses for a few years, where students "pitch" a grade based on evidence of learning. I don't believe grades motivate and that anything that is averaged is, in effect, a "summative" grade. See my beliefs below.
