　共用のダンスルーム。
　フミと同じように個人で踊る時間が欲しかったのだろう。海堂が自分のダンスを鏡で確認しながら言う。
　三人というのは、希佐、スズ、世長のことだろう。
「んー、全員が全員そうってわけじゃねーぞ。あの三人が特別」
　同期といえども役を取り合う仇同士。ライバル心を隠すことなく、攻撃的になる生徒だっている。
「お前んとこは？　78期生の次席いんだろ。あとはあの色気あるジャックと、長山先生の弟」

　早い段階で、海堂先輩にそう言われた。
　オレはドキッとして、その振動ごと飲み込んだ。
　飲み込んだ数だけ響いたんだと思う。足に。

　後になって、「心配してくれてたのにすみません」って謝った。
　そしたら笑って、オレの肩を叩いて「わかるぞ、お前の気持ちは」と言ってくれた。
　隠して、無理して、迷惑かけて、どーしようもなくカッコ悪かったオレなのに。
　でも、オレを見る海堂先輩の目は、いつもと変わらずオレへの期待に満ちている。
