Children’s hospitals face flood of flu visits as physicians urge Canadian families to get vaccinated | CBC News An early start to Canada’s flu season is hitting children hard, sending a flood of young patients into multiple pediatric hospitals as medical teams warn that emergency visits and admissions could kee...

Not one fucking word from any quoted health expert on cleaning classroom air.

Yes, talk about vaccines, ofc that's important.

But there's something else we could talk about here: a measure that protects everyone but doesn't trigger endless debates on the choice to vaccinate.

Clean classroom air!

Like many Canadians, his death was hastened by Covid. Because of ableism, some may say "oh he had underlying conditions," but he was happy & living at home. The last pic he sent me was him smiling with his new kitten. After getting Covid, he couldn't text anymore & lived between the ER & LTC

Unvaccinated infants are the second most likely group to get hospitalized for Covid after older adults. Any effort to minimize the effectiveness for kids is evil.

We are supposed to believe that FDA paused and removed the J&J vaccine immediately after 6 cases of clotting, but they hid 10 kids dying from the mRNA vaccines until Prasad and Hoeg, who were always antivaxx, revealed the truth.

Checks out.

I cannot even begin to express my rage at this lie

reading this through me back into my pandemic EMT life, attempting to resuscitate a child experiencing a cardiac arrest secondary to COVID while a father says β€œwe heard that the vaccine was riskier than COVID for kids” and a mother wails in agony

To highlight Mark’s call out here, EBM acts in a way that reflects underlying colonial values labelling some types of knowledge as β€˜savage’ and others as pure and holy.

When used to control information this is colonialism manifest.

Same strategy used to place Western knowledge over Indigenous.

This is YB, @stuffhedoes Leslie’s spouse. I am sad to share with you the tragic news of his passing on Monday, November 10th, aged 43. Leslie Lee III was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. He left us much too soon. I appreciate your kindness at this time, while we process our grief.
If you wish, you can donate directly to his gofundme linked in his profile, any later news I will post from this account. A private service for family is being held this week with a memorial service to be held at a later date in NYC.
He was to me, my everything.
He was an advocate for others with Long COVID. He was an amazing writer and passionate podcaster.

This is Alice's friend Sandy Ho, posting. Per Alice's wishes, this message is being shared at the time of her passing.
Hi everyone, it looks like I ran out of time. I have so many dreams that I wanted to fulfill and plans to create new stories for you. There are a few in progress that might come to fruition in a few years if things work out. I did not ever imagine I would live to this age and end up a writer, editor, activist, and more. As a kid riddled with insecurity and internalized ableism, I could not see a path forward. It was thanks to friendships and some great teachers who believed in me that I was able to fight my way out of miserable situations into a place where I finally felt comfortable in my skin.
We need more stories about us and our culture.
You all, we all, deserve the everything and more in such a hostile, ableist environment. Our wisdom is incisive and unflinching. I'm honored to be your ancestor and believe disabled oracles like us will light the way to the future. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I love you all.

Infants Bear the Brunt of RSV Hospitalizations, UBC Study Finds | The Tyee Researchers say the province should do more to protect the very small and vulnerable.

Read this thread! 🧡 It’s been clarifying to witness just how fast workplaces went from β€œwe’re all in this together” to β€œforced infection is a condition of employment”. No discussion about making in-person work safer. CBC’s COVID coverage leaves much to be desired and sadly, this experience tracks.

Surely if you just move a little more to the right all problems will be solved.

It's been truly stunning to me the amount of scientists and doctors who think we can just wash our hands of a novel pathogen first encountered 5 years ago. I used to believe these were data-driven experts who put health concerns first. That illusion has been trampled many times over.

Got off the plane and walked into a drug store in Ottawa and got my COVID vaccine in under 5 minutes. No line up. No appointment. No cost.

Was even asked if I wanted Moderna or Pfizer.

It’s unconscionable that we can’t get this same level of service in Alberta.

🚨 This is inexplicable news to share. If in Alberta and you want flu and covid shots for NEXT year (2026-2027), you have only until December 15 of THIS year to order them.

This is not incompetence. It’s a deliberate choice to prevent as many people ..

Yep. For clarity, here's why 'leftists' make unfounded antimasking claims:

1. They feel icky when forced to confront how their actions don't reflect their stated moral code.

2. Admitting they aren't an expert about COVID, eugenics etc. opens up the possibility of being convinced they should mask.

Heads up, this guy has done the risk assessment and he’s positive that kids can be serially reinfected with COVID forever with no serious consequences!

To suggest otherwise is fear, just ignore that JAMA Pediatrics has declared long COVID more common than asthma in kids 5 years into its existence.
