I have been working on a text for the last month that might somehow be a way to think with and against the current moment.
time to read the Zournazi interview again (with Brian, about hope)
you’ve been saying this for so long… you were the first person I heard speak of the death-knell of universities, and that was over 2 decades ago…
Here’s some advice. While this moment might understandably feel new, different and threatening for the vast majority of Canadians, for Indigenous peoples, it’s is as old as Canada itself. And we’ve learned many lessons about leadership, collaboration and survival along the way.
Come! Brian’s book is what we need right now - I know I am biased, but truly, this is an epistemic book. It is not only a book about Trump - it is a book about the logics of contemporary fascism. And about ways of moving elsewhere, and otherwise.

yay!
never made it. gave up when the snowdrifts, the snowbanks and the freezing blizzard conditions wore me out (took a block).
wondering if anyone will be there in person today - strange that it’s open. That said, I have a DeafBlind student for whom zoom doesn’t work.
so great!
was curious what Borax does (researched it after reading your message but would love to know why you prefer it?)
a couple of interesting things - as you said yesterday (and other days!) there is a settler-danger of nationalism’s jingo-ism and it’s happening. That said, the laughing off of “we define ourselves against Americans” suggests many Americans haven’t a clue of Canada’s specific kind of nationalism.
scary on this side of the border too - 25% tariffs will have real effects.
