Plenty of astronauts and cosmonauts have reported that seeing the Earth from orbit, free of arbitrary political borders, is a humbling, perspective-building exercise. Thankfully, NASA under Sean Duffy is prioritizing manned exploration of the Moon and Mars! Uh, to build a nuclear reactor.
<sigh>

I think the fact that we haven't been back in 50 years is an embarrassment and a waste. Yes, the primary motives for that mission were cynical and political, and the human achievement it actually represented was secondary, but space exploration to me is a lynchpin of a future world peace.

We're close to a point in human history where every human who ever walked on another world is dead and cannot relay their memories of the experience first-hand. This makes me deeply sad and is a big part of why I am rooting so hard for Artemis to succeed and not get delayed.

Even though Jim Lovell never walked on the Moon, his death inspired me to look up how many astronauts that did are still alive. Four: Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11), David Scott (Apollo 15), Charles Duke (Apollo 16), and Harrison Schmitt (Apollo 17).

Dixie and me with SMOKEY BEAR, looking great for 81 years old

STATE FAIR RECAP:
- Alligator taco: tasty
- Pickles with edible glitter: exactly the same as regular pickles, just with some weird sparkly sugar on them
- Booth with paintings of Packers legends (and Giannis) all gathered at Culver's or Leon's or (the best) Real Chili: hilarious

A brief history of me:
*Signs up for WWE Network in 2014*
*Reluctantly moves over to Peacock in 2021*
*Realizes there's a lot of banger shit on Peacock (Poker Face! The Visitor?)*
*Gets sick of WWE*
*Keeps Peacock while WWE moves to Netflix and ESPN+, does not subscribe to either*

It sounds like you are acclimated to one type of storytelling in your sports entertainment, and that the dominant type of storytelling in AEW and New Japan (stories told through athleticism as well as promos) isn't your bag.
Might I suggest daytime soap operas, instead?

It's a great time! And thankfully our neighbors don't mind the late night noise (heck, some of our neighbors were watching it with us!)

Yeah, we started watching stuff outside with a video projector and screen during Covid, so we could have distanced movie nights with friends in the yard. We pump the sound through a Roland keyboard amp, which works fine for our purposes!

I feel pretty good about the chances of an AI avatar of myself made after I die scraping my social media and responding to every single inquiry with "what the fuck are you doing? I'M DEAD"

They only started the scrums in the first place because they copied them from AEW! Not that those scrums involve any hard-hitting journalism whatsoever either...

Like, in my head the first draft is something something about the moon being smudged and the dust in the air choking my throat, "but the tears in my eyes/are from Cyndi singing 'Time After Time,'" and it rhymes, but...nah?

I am notoriously against songs that reference other songs in a cloying way that tries to cover up a weak song by referencing a better song. This is gonna be a tightrope, but I can walk it

I am seriously going to need to capture the feeling of witnessing something as impossibly beautiful as hearing Cyndi Lauper sing "Time After Time" with my wife next to me, outside in an amphitheater, while under a smudged, orange moon bathed in wildfire smoke. There are Body Futures lyrics in there.

My wife and I were both a puddle. And then for the exclamation point, Cyndi pulled out an enormous pride flag at the end of "True Colors" and thus began waterworks round 2
