I will be chronicling my next 2 months here, to try to ameliorate the view of death in our society, plus general thought & other posts.
My illness is a rapidly deteriorating heart, combined with COPD. As you can see, I'm on oxygen 24/7. I have frequent episodes of skipped heartbeats (PVCs), angina, and weakness, low BP, shortness of breath, etc.
I've 5 bypasses, 4 stents - there's nothing really left to do and I get worse daily.
I'm chronicling my last 2 months, solely to try to inform people. As a paramedic, I saw much of death, many misconceptions. I hope that my imperfect writings can perhaps dispel some of this.
I'll detail my thoughts, my condition, post photos of Othello, my cat & companion.
My primary care and my cardiologist agreed that I won't improve, I will only get worse.
I entered hospice care on 2 January, and will remain on it until my death on 8 March.
If the thought of voluntary death offends, I understand. Please respect my decision, and I wish you peace.
