I painted this sci-fi illustration with a warrior hunter as part of the worldbuilding of my book I'm working on. It's a rimei (race) from the III caste. He is part of the central garrison.

A collection of digital illustration studies from references. There are three electonic devices - a 1989 Macintosh portable computer, a 1970s portable TV/radio and a 1980s portable cassette recorder with orange headphones. There are also illustrations of two women - the leftmost woman is an elf with blue skin and long dark hair, wearing a white jacket with tan shorts over white tights. The rightmost woman has dark hair in a bob cut and wears loose blue clothing.

Studies: portable electronics edition. Mixing it up once again, will probably try some building/environment studies soon as well. Seems like a good way to get more comfortable drawing backgrounds #studies #tech #fashion

Along with the coffins I worked on the design for the family grave and its sculpted details, the shape of the gravestone would also hint to Victors water tower lab in silhouette with the “sphinx” feet motif too.

~later working with the wonderful production designer Tamara Deverell and her amazing team keeping them on model as they were beautifully built full size and also working on concepts for the destroyed lab pieces and smaller test version and stand.

Finally a human design for Serpens Deus, these guys are a hostile nation to The Kryn Empire. I see them as a mix of Celtic, Wiccan, and Pictish (Scotland forever) with a sort of crusader state structure and elements of Islam in there too
