"The CIA conspired to make me less cool than I was when I was 25" is the most succinct Gen X manifesto I've ever heard

It’s March 3 and I already never want to read or hear another word about Ty Simpson until after the draft

But there's no big name coming to help stabilize either position, Sullivan said. Miami will have to focus on the secondary waves of free agency and the draft to fill out its roster holes.

"We're going to have to allocate every avenue of player acquisition as we build this thing out, especially Year 1," Sullivan said. "We're not going to be big shoppers in free agency, but we'll have an opportunity to add a role player, too, that can come in and help us win. And we have the draft, and then we're going to have the undrafted free agency process where we're going to have to sign a big class.

"Then we're going to have the 53-man roster cut, and then you got practice squad steals -- we're going to have to churn this thing, and we only have eight picks as it stands today. We're going to have to be very creative in the way we go about finding pieces."

Rarely do you see a new regime come into the combine talking about practice squad steals.

I think what bothered me the most about it was how geeked he was about the job they did at the combine. Like buddy, if that's a performance worthy of praise...

As I wrote here, feel like the honeymoon period never really ended with Jones and the Colts.

As a fan of a different team in the division, I'm much happier they did this rather than play the market.

Agree. I think they are stuck with their feelings of Sept-October Jones and aren't really reading the market rationally.

Holy. Fuck.

Hours later Friedman is on CNN and basically umm and ahhhing his way through a segment as it’s obvious he knows he fucked up publishing this piece and giving this quagmire legitimacy. What a turnaround. Never seen anything like it.

A fourth is a steep price to pay. It's also I think reflective of changing cyclical times in NFL value -- you used to get Joe Mixon for nothing because he was being released. Now Rico Dowdle is expected to have a real market and could make $10MM. Teams realizing it's imperative to run on two-high.

The Legend Of Zelda didn’t create a genre, but it did help define it 40 years ago The Legend Of Zelda helped introduce the then-young action RPG genre to a generation of video game fans.

My latest for @theavclubgames.bsky.social is on the 40th anniversary of original The Legend of Zelda, and its role as a streamliner of the complicated, demanding, and burgeoning action RPG. This classic did not come out of nowhere, but was to action RPGs what Dragon Quest was for turn-based ones.

If the Texans weren't going to give Ken Walker the megabucks I can definitely see valuing Montgomery as the next-best back available.

I've never really been impressed with Caserio as a value trader -- I kind of think he just decides what he's doing first, then makes the best move he can find on the market. (As opposed to Roseman who I fully believe will just hang on to A.J. Brown if the offers stink.)

Amanda, in the business, speaking the truth. Always happy to see this. Lots of people in our industry circle the wagons whenever legit criticism from readers comes to a head, and pretending there isn't an agenda coming from ownership/EIC/ME to all parts of the paper is disingenuous. At best.
