Something Rotten! had already been staged at the ETF once before, but Jones and Hall have changed quite a bit — “we spiced it up,” Jones says with a wink.

Director Ewan Jones reported this on Sunday evening, still beaming with happiness after a triumphant restart, with no grand speeches and an enthusiastic audience.
The evening shows that this is theatre at the very highest level; it could just as well be playing in London’s West End or on Broadway.
Then suddenly everything moved very fast after all: late on Friday morning, he learned that performances would once again be allowed at the English Theatre (ETF) on Sunday—this time in its traditional theatre space in the base of Frankfurt’s Galileo Tower.

We see lots of laughter in your near future with the English Theatre Frankfurt’s Season 2025/ 2026 — once we return to our home venue later this year!
Our new season is slated to kick off on the 14th of November with the reprisal of the hilarious musical „Something Rotten!“ (1/3)
This fantastic play will return in September, with shows for both school groups and the general public (save the date: 28/9!). If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, get a sneak peek with our brand-new trailer!
