Shakespeare rules the stage.
The Bottom brothers want him dethroned.
Cue a prophecy, tap-dancing chaos, and the birth of the world’s first musical.
Something Rotten! had already been staged at the ETF once before, but Jones and Hall have changed quite a bit — “we spiced it up,” Jones says with a wink.

Director Ewan Jones reported this on Sunday evening, still beaming with happiness after a triumphant restart, with no grand speeches and an enthusiastic audience.
The evening shows that this is theatre at the very highest level; it could just as well be playing in London’s West End or on Broadway.
Then suddenly everything moved very fast after all: late on Friday morning, he learned that performances would once again be allowed at the English Theatre (ETF) on Sunday—this time in its traditional theatre space in the base of Frankfurt’s Galileo Tower.

Hey ETF-Friends!
Just like every year, our box office reduces its services during the summer months. But as we are preparing to move back into our home venue, and with season 2025/2026 starting a little later than usual, our “summer break” will be extended this year. (1/2)
The times when the English-language theatre had to move from one temporary venue to another will soon be over.”

“The upcoming 2025/2026 season at the English Theatre in Frankfurt is titled ‘Egomania.’Whether it's Shakespeare, Churchill, Stalin, or Dracula — all the protagonists in the new season's plays are egomaniacs, explains artistic director Daniel Nicolai as the reason behind the title choice.
