The 26th Baltimore Book Festival returns this month! On Saturday, September 13 2025, the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA) will take over the SFWA stage with a full day of panels featuring SFWA members and other storytellers in the genre. Don’t miss Somto Ihezue (co-editor of Will This Be A Problem? The Anthology: Issue V) on the panel “Salvation: Life After Sinners (with HWA)” at Peabody Heights Brewery from 3 PM. You Belong: YMCA, DCFS program provides stability, services for foster care youth who “age out” The You Belong Foster Youth Initiative that provides free YMCA memberships, mentorship and support for transitioning into adulthood.

In Los Angeles, there are about 20,000 youth in the foster care system, most of them Black and Latine. L.A. foster youth often endure trauma --- neglect, abandonment or abuse. More than half have chronic health conditions.
