Benton public schools hide books from students after parent’s complaint, citing two Arkansas laws - Arkansas Times A Central Arkansas school district ordered staff to remove a book from library shelves after a parent complained it was “grooming” children.

School officials in Arkansas have banned an adaptation of Little Women which reimagines Jo as queer. A parent complained that allowing children to read about LGBTQ+ characters was "grooming."

The school agreed and removed the book.
