Russians abducted Yuliya Koveshnikova (53) from her home in Melitopol.
The Insider: They put a bag over her head, threw her into a flooded pit - no light, no toilet, and beat her for speaking Ukrainian.
Then moved her to a basement. βI heard people tortured to death,β she said. 1/

The body of Ukrainian journalist, my former colleague Viktoria Roshchyna, has been returned to Ukraine, six months after her death. Viktoria was detained by Russia on the occupied territories of Ukraine, where she reported from. She was imprisoned in Russia, tortured and killed. She was just 27.

Ukraine did what he asked; Russia did not; and now he will blame Ukraine and cozy up to Russia. This whole peace thing is a distraction from the ongoing war that Ukraine has no choice but to fight because it is being asssulted every day.

This morning, russia launched a massive attack on central Kherson, bombing residential areas and then targeting rescue crews with artillery. A clear tactic to kill civilians and punish those trying to save them. One dead, three injured. Sports center, supermarket, homes destroyed.

Single biggest supplier of oil tankers to Russia's shadow fleet is Greece. Greek shipping oligarchs successfully lobbied against prohibition of such tanker sales to the shadow fleet. No other EU country did more to help Russia. Actions must have consequences. Greece should lose any say in Brussels.

Our results suggests that design changes in how platforms present product ratings information can substantially shape the incentives for firms selling on a market platform and promote the sale of more responsible products.

Experimental results confirm that bundling ratings increases green investment substantially, in our specific setup by 15%β32% percentage points, while maintaining product quality investment and consumer purchasing behavior at similar high levels.

However, when externality labels and quality ratings are bundled into a single score, firms are likely to invest in both high product quality and lower externalities, even without widespread consumer activism for sustainability.
28.01.2025 19:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
We show theoretically that when sustainability ratings/labels are displayed separately, firms selling on a platform invest in externality reduction only if enough consumers condition their purchase on the sustainability label.

Our research explores whether integrating e.g. sustainability information directly into consumer product ratingsβrather than displaying this information as separate ecolabelsβcan incentivize firms to reduce negative externalities.
