As someone who has covered 45 of Arsenal’s 48 games this season so far I have to say the gloriously jubilant celebrations after Max Dowman’s goal provided the most wonderfully joyous moments of the campaign to date
Chelsea’s mortifyingly awful pre-match huddle vs Newcastle was beyond parody. Utterly rotten. As was referee Paul Tierney’s absolutely pathetic response. So toe-curlingly dreadful even David Brent would have been embarrassed by such a shudderingly awful act
That’s me done here at the Emirates after a dramatic finish to a busy week on the road as Arsenal once again get over the line to move ten points clear. Enjoy your Saturday night, I know I will, before I see my old dear & spoil her rotten on Mother’s Day. See you at Arsenal vs Leverkusen, cheers
Lovely to see the humble Max Dowman share a moment with his family & friends after Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 here at the Emirates. I’ve covered the majority of his U21 games at Boreham Wood & he’s a really modest, unassuming lad with such a wonderfully supportive family
Goal! Arsenal 1-0 Everton. Oh my word!!! Viktor Gyokeres has sent the Emirates into raptures by slotting home the ball practically on the line to put the Gunners ahead in the 89th minute here at the Emirates
Goooooooaaaalll!!!
And we’re off again with a massive, massive 45 minutes ahead for Arsenal here at the Emirates vs Everton
HT: Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Auf Wiedersehen Germany, it’s been fun, until next time
Or…
My week in Germany: Leverkusen >> Bonn >> Cologne >> Leverkusen >> Cologne >> Stuttgart
Hello from a gloriously sunny Stuttgart after an absolutely brilliant week here in Germany before heading home later today. You can find my work @M_Star_Online newspaper and my @Substack Layth’s Take
FT: Stuttgart 1-2 Porto. See @M_Star_Online newspaper and my @Substack Layth’s Take for my feature from the relentlessly raucous Neckarstadion as the PA plays ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey
The Stuttgart team head over to their ultras behind the goal as the players applaud the fan groups and the home support applaud their team despite losing 2-1 at home to Porto in front of 60,000 here at the Neckarstadion
FT: Stuttgart 1-2 Porto. A compelling Europa League clash is won by the Portuguese amid a relentlessly raucous atmosphere generated by the fervent home support that lasted from the first second until the 96th minute without a let up in front of 60,000 here at the Neckarstadion
HT: Stuttgart 1-2 Porto. The visitors lead but the relentless ear-splitting atmosphere generated by the home support who’ve been raucously cheering on their side despite falling two goals behind has been impressive. And that’s without the pyro & even firecrackers in the away end
Not long now until Vfb Stuttgart vs Porto. See @M_Star_Online newspaper and my @Substack Layth’a Take for my special feature from the legendary Neckarstadion here in south-west Germany
An absolutely cracking atmosphere here at the legendary Neckarstadion ahead of the Europa League Last 16 first leg clash between Vfb Stuttgart vs Porto.
The Neckarstadion’s capacity for Bundesliga matches is officially listed as 60,058. With it being reduced to 54,812 for international matches. However this legendary stadium’s record attendance was set back in 1950 when 97,553 were here for West Germany vs Switzerland
Stuttgart’s legendary Neckarstadion hosted the 1959 European Cup final Real Madrid v Reims with Alfredo di Stefano scoring. It also hosted 1988 final when PSV Eindhoven beat Benfica on penalties. You may also recall Jack Charlton’s great Irish side beat England 1-0 here @ Euro 88
