Unfortunately I do not have a helpful answer, but commenting to stay in the loop. Would also love to find an Amazon alternative!

I was once told to aim to do about 3 reviews for every paper one submits, to contribute fairly and balance out what one is asking of the scientific community. Not sure how widespread that sentiment is & how the number should change based on seniority, but might be helpful to have a number in mind.

Was a pleasure to see @zoppolat.bsky.social once again present our work testing whether romantic relationship involvement buffers loneliness for asexuals as it has been shown to do for heterosexuals and other sexual minorities at the IARR mini conference in London. Curious about the results?โ€ฆ

Lots of research has examined the effects of mindfulness, including in relationships, generally showing benefits. This study shows that one way that mindfulness can shape relationships is by reducing men's tendency to overestimate their partner's negative emotions during difficult conversations. 4/5

But we found important individual differences: more mindful people, especially men, were less likely to overestimate their partner's anger, meaning that mindfulness helped men perceive their partner's emotions more realistically. 3/5

In two studies, couples came to the lab and engaged in a conversation about an issue in their relationship. We then asked each partner how angry & upset they felt, and how angry & upset they thought their partner felt. On average, people tend to overestimate their partner's negative emotions. 2/5

Was a pleasure to present my new post-doctoral work at #ASPO2024. I have been attending ASPO (Dutch social psych conference) since I was an eager Masters student, so grateful for this community. And thanks to my collaborator on this project, @dsquared.bsky.social, more to come!

It is cute that my (not-in-academia) partner has been reading my dissertation now that it has officially been printed, but I have also discovered that in Chapter 3 I conducted a "daiRy diary study", not a "daiLy diary study" ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฅ› #relationshipscience #oops
