The site would even be run like a co-op, meaning streamers and viewers could vote on rules, how the money is split, and any fee changes. This way, Twitch stays ad-free, creators get fair pay, and the whole community helps keep the platform running together.

Twitch itself would keep a small, fixed fee (like 25%) from the big pool to pay for servers and staff, and everything else would go to creators.

Streamers don’t have to run ads or worry about sponsors they just turn on “Community Pay” in their settings, and the system pays them automatically based on how many people watched and boosted them.

You can also press a “Boost” button on a stream you really like, which tells the system to send that creator a little extra from your pool. Every month, Twitch shows you a clear breakdown of where your money went, so you always know who you supported.

That money goes into one big shared pool that supports all streamers. As you watch different streams, the system automatically tracks your watch time and sends pieces of your monthly amount to those streamers, kind of like splitting a pizza based on how many slices you ate.

Is this an answer to twitch's ad problem: everything would run on community support instead of ads. When viewers log in, they can choose to join a “community fund” and pick how much they want to give each month, maybe $1, $3, or $5.

After reading Peter Kropotkin’s Are We Good Enough?, I think this might be one of my favorite essays. It challenges the idea that socialism or anarchism is naive.

We build a better world through solidarity, by organizing together, learning together, and standing guard for each other. Politics should always be about helping people and doing good on a social scale.

I get it, the Dems are deeply flawed, but when all our energy goes into dunking on liberals instead of confronting literal fascists trying to dismantle democracy, our activism starts to feel hollow and performative.

Entryism isn’t about “saving” the Democrats, it’s about using limited access to power to protect people + build movements in a rigged 2-party system. The Dems will never be truly left-wing; they’re tied to capital. Entryism is a tactic, not the goal. We’ll need our own party someday.

I think the biggest cope of the right is them trying to say that fascism and nazism are left wing when we all know without a doubt that it is very much and unrefutably right wing.

Unfortunately, with how the system is now, voting Green isn’t effective. I don’t like the Democrats either, but until we build a real third party, there are basically only two choices.

Even a flawed system has to respond to public pressure, and choosing not to engage just hands power to those who will. Yeah, in the U.S. that often means voting blue more than we’d like, which is frustrating and imperfect,

This kind of anti-electoralism feels harmful and unserious to me because it throws away one of the few democratic tools people actually have. If you have the right to vote, you should use it.

One thing I really disagree with in a lot of authoritarian socialist spaces, especially among those obsessed with revolution, is their total rejection of electoral politics.
